Australian GLBTIQ Multicultural Council Inc (AGMC Inc)

The AGMC Inc is a peak body for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer individuals and community groups of multicultural and multifaith backgrounds. AGMC's vision is to live in a world without prejudice and discrimination on the basis on sexuality, sex, gender, race, culture, and religion in celebration of our diverse and unique identities. AGMC's mission is to advocate for the rights of multicultural and multifaith LGBTIQ communities through advocacy, research, education, and community events. AGMC works alongside government agencies, LGBTIQ organisations, as well as multicultural and multifaith communities to ensure our voices are heard and not forgotten. AGMC is committed to work with diverse communities, including migrants, international students, refugee and asylum seekers, young people, and people with disability. AGMC believes that celebration of our identities can greatly improve our health and well-being while continuously challenging the persistence of stigma, prejudice and discrimination. Our activities include: 1. Providing advice to government agencies, non-profit organisations, and community groups. 2. Conducting research projects that are ethical, decolonialised, and benefit the communities. 3. Delivering training on the unique needs of multicultural and multifaith LGBTIQ communities. 4. Influencing others through public speaking, conference attendance, and story telling. 5. Facilitating social events to bring communities together. 6. Publicising print and online resources on multicultural and multifaith LGBTIQ communities. 7. Organising conferences, public forums, and seminars to highlight the lived experiences and needs of multicultural and multifaith LGBTIQ communities. 8. Providing referrals to existing services, community groups, and agencies.

Convergence Science Network

The Convergence Science Network promotes a dialogue between the community and the biomedical sciences. We make scientists accessible to the community to promote an awareness of exciting advances in science and technology that impact health and well being.

Community Insight Australia

Community Insight Australia is a web-based tool that collates publicly available information on a map. It helps social purpose organisations access information on the communities they serve. It is a translation of Community Insight (communityinsight.org) in the UK, which is a collaboration between data experts Oxford Consultants for Social Inclusion (OCSI) and the Housing Associations’ Charitable Trust (HACT). They were recently nominated for an Open Data Innovation Award by the Open Data Institute. Community Insight Australia will allow service designers to target and tailor services to communities. We hope this means better outcomes for Australian communities. The tool is intuitive to operate and does not require any training or expertise. Functions: 1. Social indicators can be heat-mapped to identify areas of greatest need. 2. For any area the user defines, engaging and informative reports can be generated in under 10 minutes. 3. User-defined areas can be quickly compared to each other, their state and Australia via a dashboard. 4. Map your housing or other community assets, spatially analyse your assets’ relationship to the community they sit in.

Foundation for Australian Agricultural Women

The Foundation for Australian Agricultural Women (FAAW) is a national, independent, non-profit organisation that aims to advance women in rural and regional communities and improve their participation in decision making at all levels. The Foundation is an independent network that aims to improve the participation of rural and agricultural women in decision-making at all levels. FAAW sees leadership as the capacity to influence and if we are to influence this must come from a well-informed position. FAAW consults widely and partners individuals, business, government and other non-government organisations in the provision of resources of benefit to rural women's leadership.
