Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF)

The Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF) was established by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., as a public charity supporting scholastic achievement, charitable and educational service programs, and research initiatives focused upon African American women. Today, DREF remains strong, vibrant, and poised to meet 21st century challenges with the same unwavering spirit and dedication the Sorority originally envisioned. Our charge to realize social and economic equality for future generations of African American women continues as our guiding principle.

Chester County Fund for Women and Girls

Chester County Fund for Women and Girls (CCFWG) leads and unites the community through philanthropy and advocacy to ensure that women and girls have resources and opportunities to thrive. We engage in grantmaking, advocacy and educational pursuits to ensure that local women and girls attain physical well-being, equality and economic security. As a vital community partner and leader, we are bold, thoughtful and creative in uniting individuals and organizations around a shared commitment to women and girls. Since 1997, CCFWG has awarded nearly $3 million in grants to 71 non-profit agencies throughout Chester County to strategically address the persisting health, economic, physical and emotional needs of women and girls.

Dave's House

At Dave’s House, we envision a world in which individuals with serious mental illness (SMI) have permanent supportive housing – and hope. Our residents are breaking the cycle of homelessness, incarceration, and hospitalization, so that they may focus on improving themselves, contributing to their communities and realizing their dreams. We see them experiencing happier days, free of stigma, despair, and isolation. We see them believing more in themselves, their abilities and their communities. We see them, in their ongoing battle, victorious. Providing individuals with permanent supportive housing changes lives. Each individual has a story, hopes and the potential for positive contributions to society. Dave’s House is committed to helping these individuals one by one until they all have a home to call their own. These are people in our community who, because of mental illness, find themselves in a place in which they cannot thrive, but are merely surviving. Art Expression, Inc.

Mission Statement: “To facilitate positive socialization through expressive art activities and provide academic enrichment in an inclusive educational environment." Who Are We? Art Expression, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization that was founded by James and Angela Lowden in 2001 as an expression of their passion for alleviating the social inequalities that exist among children of different abilities and backgrounds. It is a fully inclusive after-school program, offered free of charge to students, that focuses on developing the social skills of children through the arts in the Pittsburgh area. Art and music therapy is not performed during the sessions, but some components of both are used to develop positive outcomes for students. Who Do We Serve? Art Expression, Inc. has served over 9,000 children in urban, suburban and rural school districts and community organizations in Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties. Program Goals: -Increase self-esteem, creative self-expression and independence through the arts and discussion -Enhance social and anti-bullying skills by providing an inclusive environment -Improve problem-solving skills and frustration tolerance -Reinforce academic core standards -Increase leadership skills

Art of Life Cancer Foundation

The Art of Life Cancer Foundation exists to provided a network of support for you and your family when you need it most. The Art of Life mission is to inspire people impacted by cancer to connect and heal through creative expression. We believe that no one should ever have to walk the journey alone and that healing art is a powerful tool to process one's emotions, find camaraderie, and pass on hope to others. As we discover the "art of living,"​ we can choose growth through life's most difficult seasons and embrace a renewed perspective on life, approaching each day with a spirit of gratitude.
