Rice University's Baker Institute for Public Policy

Founded in 1993, the Baker Institute is one of the leading nonpartisan public policy think tanks in the country. As an integral part of Rice University, the institute has a strong track record of achievement based on the work of Rice faculty and the institute's endowed fellows and scholars. The mission of the Baker Institute is to help bridge the gap between the theory and practice of public policy by drawing together experts from academia, government, media, business, and nongovernmental organizations. By involving policymakers and scholars, as well as students, the institute seeks to improve the debate on selected public policy issues and to make a difference in the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of public policy, both domestic and international. Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise

Established in 1985 by Frank Hawkins Kenan, the Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise is a nonpartisan business policy think tank affiliated with the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. The nonprofit institute and its affiliated centers convene leaders from the private sector, academic community and government to build a greater understanding of how entrepreneurship, economic development and global commerce can work for the public good. The institute leverages best-in-class research to develop market-based solutions to today’s most complex economic challenges. In doing so, the institute aims to support businesses and policies that better the lives of people in North Carolina, across the country and around the world.

CIARO

CIARO (Center for Intelligence Analysis, Research & Operations) is a non-profit think tank, created under the mandates of 6 USC 331(c); specializing in the advancement and support of the National Intelligence Strategy (NIS) and National Counterintelligence Strategy of the United States of America. CIARO's primary mission objectives and goals are consistent and in support of the National Security Act of 1947; 50 USC 401.
