Mission Telecom
Mission Telecom (MT), formerly trading as Instructional Telecommunications Foundation (ITF) is a 501c4 non-profit foundation with a dual focus on grant making and venture philanthropy. Founded in 1983 on the principles of catalyzing systemic change in the United States, we use the revenue gained from the monetization of our telecommunications spectrum resources to pursue our mission, "to leverage our telecom services and impact investments as a driving force for transformative social change, prioritizing inclusiveness, empowerment, and sustainability."
The heart of Mission Telecom’s impact work is our grant making. The principles of our strategy are captured in our Theory of Change, "Mission Telecom aims to address societal divides by prioritizing root causes which are often systemic and political in nature. This support centers grassroots organizing, policy and advocacy work with the potential to be transformative and to advance the limits of what is considered possible."
Coming soon in 2024 Mission Telecom will be launching its commercial venture. We will provide affordable, unlimited wireless broadband services to nonprofits (state and federal), educational institutions (for profit and not-for-profit) and social welfare agencies across the United States, all backed by the T-Mobile 5G network.
Customers will not only receive high quality, affordable services to power their mission, they will also become direct partners in our mission; their investment going directly to grassroots organizations working hard to address digital, social, racial, and economic equity and justice gaps across the United States.
Our promise is to bridge divides, spark possibilities, and nurture a world where connectivity is a force for good. We are dedicated to providing not just the connectivity but the technology and tools for empowerment, ensuring that every individual, community, and organization can thrive in an interconnected world.
