Association of Fundraising Professionals - San Diego Chapter

The San Diego Chapter of the worldwide Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) upholds the mission of the international association and advances philanthropy in the San Diego region by empowering members, prospective members and representatives of other organizations to practice effective and ethical fundraising. AFP San Diego is dedicated to stimulating a world of generosity and positive social change through best practices in fundraising. The largest network of professionals devoted to fundraising worldwide—with 33,000 members—we raise more than $115 billion annually. This is equivalent to one-quarter of all charitable giving in North America. In San Diego, our focus is on strengthening the region by educating development professionals and nonprofit leaders in best practices in fundraising, applying the high standards of the AFP Code of Ethics.

Catholic Business Network of Prince George's County

We are a group of professionals dedicated to providing scholarships and grants to promote Catholic education in Prince George's County, MD. We meet monthly for networking breakfasts and host several events each year including a Crab Feast, Golf Classic, Banquet, Auction and Awards Celebration.

AEPi Rock-A-Thon

Rock-A-Thon is an extensive philanthropic effort coordinated by the men of Alpha Epsilon Pi at the University of Missouri in Columbia and benefiting the American Cancer Society. The event has remained a Columbia staple since its formation in 1969. This year, AEPi Rock-A-Thon’s donations will benefit the research of Skin Cancers through the American Cancer Society. Despite being one of the easiest cancers to detect and one that is fairly preventable, Melanoma rates have been steadily rising over the past 40 years. Melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer and every year over 50,000 people will be diagnosed in the United States alone. In 2013, Rock-A-Thon raised $123,000 and solidified its position as the largest single-chapter fraternity and sorority philanthropy in North America. AEPi Rock-A-Thon’s goal is to exceed that record in 2015. Rock-A-Thon 2015 will begin at 7a.m. on April 23rd and end at 10p.m. on April 25th. The event is hosted on a stage at the northwest corner of 9th and Broadway in downtown Columbia, Missouri. One brother from the fraternity is elected to rock on a rocking chair for 63 straight hours while the remainder of the brotherhood and additional volunteers solicit donations through canning across the state of Missouri.
