American Lyric Theater

American Lyric Theater (ALT) was founded in 2005 to build a new body of operatic repertoire for new audiences by nurturing composers and librettists, developing sustainable artistic collaborations, and contributing new works to the national canon. ALT is not an opera company by any traditional definition. Many opera companies commission and perform new works; but ALT is the only company in the United States that offers extensive, full time mentorship for emerging operatic writers. While the traditional company model focuses on producing a season, ALT's programs focus on serving the needs of artists, developing new works, and collaborating with producing companies to help usher those works into the repertoire.

Compagnie Destins Croisés

Toute la philosophie de Destins Croisés réside en son nom. Fondée en 2003 par le chorégraphe et danseur français-marocain-canadien Ismaël Mouaraki, la compagnie de danse montréalaise Destins Croisés rassemble cultures urbaines et arts de la scène contemporaine dans des fresques chorégraphiques qui questionnent l’individu, la société, et leurs enjeux sociaux et culturels. Si la philosophie et la vision de la compagnie sont indissociables de son chorégraphe, de son histoire personnelle, et de ses racines en danses urbaines, c’est en s’entourant d’une équipe de collaborateurs aet d’interprètes talentueux aux expertises multiples qu’Ismaël donne vie à ses œuvres originales et hors-normes. Les créations de Destins Croisés explorent le métissage des genres, des individualités, et des physicalités hybrides, pour rejoindre l’essence même du corps dansant, dans une volonté de briser toutes les frontières sociales, culturelles, et artistiques et créer avec ce qui différencie. Ismaël Mouaraki transpose cette fusion dans ses œuvres, et bouleverse constamment son esthétique en croisant les danses urbaines aux formes multiples du langage contemporain (slam, cirque, vidéo, théâtre) dans des univers chorégraphiques intenses, physiques et organiques. L’identité et l’altérité y sont des thèmes récurrents, traduisant un goût prononcé de composer avec des individus dont l’identité s’est forgée par leur bagage culturel, social et artistique. Dans son univers, chacun, chaque forme d’art, chaque démarche a sa place.

4th Line Theatre

Idyllic, rural, and quintessentially Canadian, each year the 4th Line Theatre Company presents Canadian plays – written by and about Canadians; small town stories or broad national sagas that touch a nerve in all of us. Our Artistic Vision: Commitment to local culture and history, artistic exploration and excellence, authenticity of presentation, innovative staging, community involvement, development of regional artists, and exploration of an environmental theatre aesthetic are the key guiding artistic principles of 4th Line Theatre. These elements create for the audience a sense of complete immersion in the struggles of our forebears. We aspire to create projects where community involvement and professional commitment mutually engage and inspire one another; linking young people to the company's professional artists and community elders. Our method of bringing history to life makes our work distinctive on the national Canadian theatre stage. Few Canadian theatres have committed so strongly to the ongoing chronicling and exploration of a region's culture and past. Our Mission: To preserve and promote our Canadian cultural heritage through the development and presentation of regionally based, environmentally staged historical dramas. Our Mandate: To develop and produce original Canadian works of artistic excellence that explore regional themes, history and heritage and to present this work in a politically responsible and culturally sensitive manner. Through our artistic processes we seek to encourage innovation and experimentation resulting in productions that entertain and educate.

Vancouver Chamber Choir

Canada's outstanding professional vocal ensemble, the Vancouver Chamber Choir has performed across the country and internationally since the choir's formation in 1971. The Choir presents a full concert season, tours, performs in broadcasts and recordings, and offers five highly acclaimed educational programs. In addition to touring and a busy season of concerts, broadcasts, and recording in Vancouver, the Choir offers an annual array of educational programs: the Conductors' Symposium for advanced choral conductors, Interplay workshops for choral composers, Focus for college and university music students, OnSite for elementary and secondary schools, the biennial Young Composers' Competition, and various on-tour residencies and workshops.
