Access 2000 Wexford

ACCESS 2000 is a Community Development Project based in Wexford Town in the South East of Ireland which evolved to enable women to develop the skills necessary for them to feel worthwhile in the workforce and their communities. The key values which inform our work are empowerment, participation, inclusion, equality, respect, trust and openness. Within this ethos we offer community education and training programmes which are designed and delivered in a facilitative manner in an environment that is conducive to learning. Our approach is mentoring, flexible and friendly and this supports learners to develop at their own pace and to identify progression routes to further education and employment. All our programmes are designed and delivered in a facilitative manner which supports and encourages learners to develop at their own pace. All of our courses are delivered using the ethos of community education and facilitated by fully qualified and experienced tutors. Participants on our courses range in age from 18 + and we have a course to suit everyone.

The Conference on Crimes Against Women offer 126 workshops, case studies, and computer labs over 2-1/2 days of cutting-edge training taught by leading experts in their fields. Training is administered to members of law enforcement, prosecutors, advocates, and medical professionals from across the country focusing on domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, stalking, campus safety, strangulation, cold cases, etc. Our long-term goal is to eliminate violence against women and children in every community. We will achieve this by arming police officers, prosecutors and victim advocates with the information needed to identify, investigate and prosecute difficult cases successfully. Each year, we are one step closer to creating national change to this global problem.
