Downtown Stockton Alliance

The mission of the Downtown Stockton Alliance (DSA) is to promote business, housing, arts and entertainment to help create a vibrant, sustainable, urban community in Downtown Stockton. DSA is a public/private partnership uniting almost 1,000 property owners and downtown businesses. The non-profit DSA was incorporated in 1996 as a 501(c)(6) corporation and officially began operations in 1998. Funded by a Property Based Improvement District (PBID) which allows property owners to self-assess on properties and a Business Improvement District (BID) allowing business owners to self-assess their businesses, the Downtown Stockton District was voted into creation in 1997, renewed for a second five-year period in 2002, next for a ten-year period in 2007, and most recently in 2017 for another ten-year period until 2027.

FIGMENT Project

FIGMENT began as a free annual participatory arts event on Governors Island in 2007, and has expanded significantly each year since. Our mission is to build community through the participatory arts, inspiring personal and social transformation by creating cultural events and experiences in a spirit of participation and inclusion. In 2014, the weekend-long FIGMENT NYC event welcomed nearly 25,000 participants and over 300 art projects on June 7-8, 2014. Starting in 2008, FIGMENT has created summer-long programs on Governors Island, which in 2014 include an interactive sculpture garden, an artist-designed minigolf course, a treehouse, and an architectural pavilion. These programs engage approximately 200,000 visitors a year, all at no cost, enabling us to provide a cultural experience for a very diverse group of participants. Starting in 2010, FIGMENT has expanded geographically. In 2014, FIGMENT will have events in ten cities in three countries on two continents, including events in New York City, Boston, Chicago, San Diego, Toronto, Philadelphia, Washington (DC), Jackson (MS), and Geelong (Australia), and Oakland. FIGMENT is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization incorporated in New York State.

Historical Society of Michigan

The Historical Society of Michigan (HSM) is the state's oldest cultural institution, founded by Territorial Governor Lewis Cass and explorer Henry Schoolcraft in 1828. For over 175 years the Society has been committed to advancing the story of our state, educating our citizens on Michigan's past and demonstrating how it is relevant to today. As a 501 c3, we are not a part of state government, receive no state support and rely solely on private donations, membership and a number of earned revenue activities.

The road map will serves as a set of goals and strategies to integrate social responsibility in daily life/ business practices. The Asian Road map for Businesses includes key points on: integrating SR across business functions, respect for human rights, developing employees, preserving the environment, engaging with stakeholders etc and refers all core subjects of ISO 26000 and in harmony with UN Global Impact, International treaty, regional treaties and issues
