Santé mentale Québec-Bas-Saint-Laurent

Auparavant connue sous le nom de Association canadienne pour la santé mentale, filiale du Bas-du-Fleuve inc.,notre organisme a été fondé en 1964 à Rimouski. Après 52 ans d'existence dans la région du Bas-St-Laurent, en janvier 2016, après consultation de ses membres, l'organisme se désaffilie de ce réseau. Santé mentale Québec – Bas-Saint-Laurent (SMQ-BSL) comme sept autres groupes à travers le Québec. Nous poursuivons notre adhésion à un réseau provincial qui est Mouvement Santé mentale Québec qui compte en 2017, treize membres ce qui nous permet d'élargir la promotion de la santé mentale et ainsi d'allier de nouvelles forces vives à travers le Québec dans le but de travailler ensemble à créer, renforcer et développer la santé mentale des Québécoises et Québécois. L'organisme se porte à la défense des valeurs de justice sociale, de responsabilité individuelle et collective, d'accès à des ressources ainsi qu'à un soutien approprié et adéquat. De plus, il vise l'autonomie et l'intégration maximale à la collectivité de ses membres. En 2000, l'Agence de la santé et des services sociaux décernait un prix d'excellence pour ses actions de promotion de la bonne santé mentale. Neuf ans plus tard, soit en en octobre 2009, la Chambre de commerce de Rimouski, lors du Gala de reconnaissance, remettait le prix d'excellence dans la catégorie Amélioration de la qualité de vie et aide à la communauté à notre association. En mars 2016, la Chambre de commerce et de l'industrie de Rimouski a identifié Santé mentale Québec – Bas-Saint-Laurent comme l'un des trois finalistes pour ces prix d'excellence dans la catégorie Organisme sans but lucratif. Santé mentale Québec - Bas-Saint-Laurent est un organisme communautaire voué à la promotion et à la prévention de la santé mentale. Elle offre également des activités d'éducation, de soutien et de croissance pour favoriser une bonne santé mentale. Elle s'adresse à toute personne qui veut prendre en main son équilibre émotionnel.
