Multilinguisation access to websites
AXiMAG offers access service to multilingual Web sites, in partnership with the team GETALP Laboratory LIG .
This service allows navigation within a site or subsite in several languages, with incremental improvement and control of the translation quality. A visitor accessing the web site is operating in the language of their choice through a collaborative translation gateway called IMAG (Interactive Multilingual Access Gateway) dedicated to this site, his website address. The translated pages are constructed on the fly with a dedicated translation memory, hosted by AXiMAG, which contains pre-translations obtained by one or more machine translation systems, as well as translations obtained by manually post-editing translation results. Improvements are made by the visitors themselves, on the fly, in the context of navigation, and for each language by a native speaker also serving as a supervisor.
Unlike machine translation gateways currently in use, such as Google Translate, BabelFish, or SYSTRANet, using a dedicated translation memory and the collaborative aspect allow to constantly improving translation quality while being able to control it. Moreover, the process works in an endless loop: the pretranslation are recalculated regularly to follow the improvement of machine translation systems used.
