Matagorda County Hospital District

The Matagorda County Hospital District (MCHD) was established in 1965 by an act of the Texas Legislature to serve the health care needs of Matagorda County residents. A seven-member Board of Managers is appointed by the Commissioners' Court to govern the management of the facility and to guide major health-related initiatives. Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Worth

Texas Rehabilitation Hospital was founded in 2011 as a joint-venture Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital with Texas Health Resources. Our mission was, and remains so to this day, to improve the health, function and quality of life of the people in the communities we serve. In pursuit of our mission, Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Worth has developed specialized treatment programs for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation and orthopedic injury. We have gained accreditation through CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) for general inpatient rehabilitation, as well as Brain Injury, Stroke and Spinal Cord Injury Specialty programs. In addition to our rehabilitation programs, we have obtained certification from The Joint Commission for Inpatient Diabetes Care, because we recognize what an important role proper management can play in preventing future events in our patient population. Above all else, though, our focus remains on returning quality of life to the patients we serve.
