EEXI Association of Hellenic Internet Users

The Association of Hellenic Internet Users (EEXI) wishes to unite all Greek Internet Users, both in Greece and abroad. Online since January 1994, EEXI was the first greek Non Profit Internet Service Provider and the first non state domain registrar in Greece. EEXI is a Non Profit, Non Government Organization. EEXI has never received state aid, financial aid or any other aid. EEXI is currently financed by EEXI's President of the Board, Nikos Vasilakos. The long term targets of the Association, have been declared in its statute, which has been defined in a series of meetings by the end of December 1993. Since then, the Association has benefited from its members for its initial (and official) recognition, the development of its office space, the acquisition and installation of its system and networks. Moreover it has pioneered in the organization of more than 5.000 hours of seminars on subjects like the infrastructure, content and beneficial use of the Internet. EEXI's members benefit in many ways. We offer many member services, either by informing our members on matters that have to do with networks, collective problem solving, or providing support to the members. In parallel, EEXI acts as a medium to inform the public on issues regarding the Internet. EEXI also educates the public through an extensive series of seminars. EEXI maintains its own infrastructure and provides a mailbox or/and user pages to each member. Digital Residence is in 2006 begonnen met het bussinessplan, wat in 2008 geleid heeft tot het oprichten van het bedrijf Digital Residence B.V.. De naam van het bedrijf betekent "Digitaal Onderkomen"​ in het Nederlands en wordt kortweg ook DigiRes genoemd. Dit is gerealiseerd door de samenwerking van verschillende eigenaren van internet bedrijven welke reeds jaren diensten aanbieden en een stempel hebben gezet binnen de internet branche. Doordat de behoefde in de markt voor datacenters en colocatie op lokaal niveau steeds groter wordt en even meer doordat de datacenters in de regio Amsterdam vol beginnen te raken, zijn de handen in een geslagen en met onze eerste colocatie faciliteit in Nijmegen een start gemaakt met het aanbieden van colocatie op lokaal niveau. Het is namelijk dringen voor een plekje in de datacenters van onze hoofdstad. Na jaren van ruimteoverschot dient zich de laatste tijd een hardnekkig tekort aan.
